MTV EUROPEAN MUSIC AWARDS 2006 IN COPEHAGEN

Copenhagen was the host for tonight’s MTV European Music Awards 2006.

Opening the show was Justin Timberlake with an outstanding performance of his songs ‘Sexy Back’ and ‘My Love’.

Dressed in a back suit. The show started off with Borat on a large screen giving Justin pointers on presenting. The humour grow sour as Borat became more controversial with his jokes about Jews and Denmark. Justin replied disgustedly telling Borat ‘enough’. Character or not Borat had gone to far with his explicit jokes.

First to win an award on the night was Gnarls Barkley, followed by an outstanding performance by ‘The Killers’.
Second award tonight was won by ‘Muse’ for ‘Best Alternative Act’. The Third award was won by ’Depeche Mode’ who thanked MTV for playing their music videos for over 20 years.
Rhianna then hit the stage with her song ‘SOS’ along with dancers to set the tone.

Johnny Knoxville who arrived on stage with beer, presented ‘Best Album Award’ to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. They couldn’t be there, since they are currently on tour in America. So a video of them in the US accepting the award was shown. The excitement or gratitude was no where to be seen for winning this award. Their reaction only reveals them to be hypocrites.
Next to win an award was ‘Kanye West’ for ‘Best Hip Hop Act‘. Followed by a performance from ‘Muse’.

Half Way into the show was a humorous Avid Merrion. Rein acting Madonna’s performance from last years EMA’s. He hit the stage by coming out of a disco ball rolling and tumbling in his Madonna mask and Pink leotard. Stretching and clambering around the stage. He was then joined by 6 ‘babies’ (dwarfs) all dancing around him.
“Cut the Music” said Merrion, going on to say “I’m Madonna, these are my babies’, I bought them from E bay, these are my E Babies’. I’m Madonna!”

After Avid Merrion’s skit, new to the pop seen Rhianna accepted her first MTV award. Following was a performance of ‘Drop It Like Its Hot’ by Pharrell Williams and Snoop Dog. Who performed outside to a large crowd. They hit the stage all furred out literally, since it was minus degrees in Denmark.

Justice VS Simain won best ‘Music Video’. Self proclaimed Kanye West later revealed he had some ‘Sippy Sippy’. Burst onto the stage, furious he didn’t win. Which many agreed he should have won. A guy from ‘J VS S’ told him “but you won one already” Kanye went off stage not a happy bunny.

Host and Performer of the night Justin Timberlake won an award for ‘Best Pop Act’.
‘Best Rock Act’ went to ‘The Killers’.
‘Best Female Act’ went to Christina Aguilera. Who accepted her award via a pre-recorded video link. She apologised for not being there since she is currently preparing for her world tour.
P.Diddy then preformed, his usually ‘Diddy’ performance with clad girls and big fireworks.

Justin went on to win his second award of the night, honouring other artists who were in the same category as him, such as Pharrell and Kanye. Pharrell looked disappointed to be leaving without any awards on the night, who later told Justin “Congratulations” for the award he could have had.

Ending the night were the winners of this years Eurovision Contest who ended the show with their song ‘Hard Rock Hallueja’

This years EMA’s again met up to all expectations. With another excellent stage setting. Including comedy, brilliant performances not to mention drama and deserving winners. Copenhagen was a fantastic host for this years EMA’s. Whether winner or loser, the EMA’s famous drink filled and scandalous after parties are were all the celebrities want to be at.

Backstreet Boys 'Never Gone Tour' - Soundcheck and Concert - Dublin Sunday October 23rd

The time for the Dublin show finally arrived after months of touring in America,Canada,Japan.
It was the European fans turn!
After finally coming back to do European tours, since 1999, the eagerly anticipated Irish tour date arrived.
After releasing there new album 'Never Gone' this Summer, they decided to name the tour after it.
The Backstreet Boys had an air of experience in which you would expect after still going strong after 12 years of trials and tribulations and the success of selling over 73 MILLION cd's worldwide!

As you could imagine there were no expectations on how good their concert will be, The fans knew it would be great and It was an incredible concert.
- The Soundcheck

It was approx 4:30pm, When more then 50 lucky fans got to view the Backstreet Boys at their soundcheck,

The guys were laid back as they Welcomed us and sang 3 songs, Including: Incomplete,Weird World and their brand new song 'Just Want You To Know'. In between songs they would answer questions and receive presents from fans. It was a great insight of the behind the scenes of a part of what goes on before they hit the stage.

- The Concert

The concert started at 8:45pm, with a video collage of the BSB from when they started out 12 years ago till now.
It got the crowd started and then the lights came on and the Backstreet Boys hit the stage!
The chorography was amazing and with the biggest loudest fireworks ever! Throughout the concert when they got ready for the next set on stage there was more videos from the Black and Blue (2000) and Millineum Tour (1999)
They sang all their hit songs, including there songs from there new album 'Never Gone'
It was a very special day for AJ as it was his anniversary for being 3 years sober from alcohol and drugs.
Midway through the concert Brian and the rest of the band presented him with a cake and congratulated him.
The concert was on for a full 1hr and 45mins.
All the merchandise sold was donated to Brian's charity 'The Heart Foundation' It was inspired from when Brian was diagnosed with a hole in his heart.
Some of the money also went to Howie's lupus charity after his sister died from it years ago.
It was an absolutley brillant concert and it shows how strong a band they really are with each member bringing something different to the show with Kevin on Piano and Nick with his strong singing voice and electric guitar called 'Helga',AJ and Howie with there unique voices and entertainment and of course Brian, the soul singer of the band who smiles all the time.

E! Summer Splash Party at Club Tropicana - 31-July-2005

It was the hippest celeb party of the year!
The Club was set around a pool with mood enhancing lights, White fabric Canape's reserved for the A-list stars, white vinyl furniture and a selection of food and drinks.
To start the night off synchronized swimmers preformed in the pool.
Among the crowd of celebrity faces there was Ashlee Simpson, Ryan Cabera, Hugh Heffner with his entourage... Malcolm in the Middle stars Justin Berfield and Bryan Craston, SteveO from MTV's Jackass, Nicole Richie's fiancee DJ AM aka Adam Goldstein,'8 Simple Rules' star Kaley Cuoco and more!

Jackass star 'SteveO' he wasnt as self conscious as all the other stars that night, he enjoyed the night gathered around the table with his friends.

You could tell Ashlee and Ryan seemed to have had a good time too, by the end of the night Ryan jumped into the pool with some friends!
One of the Canape's was reserved for Hef and company was stocked at their request with M&Ms and a private butler.
Justin Berfield was very reserved, very different to his character on 'Malcolm In the Middle'

DJ AM spilled out all my favourite tunes that night.

It was a very enjoyable night that went on from 10pm till 1am, not many hours but in Hollywood, as you would expect the celebrities would have a tight schedule the next day!
